A Tailor Made Solution

Customer: DuPont
Location: Richmond, VA - USA

DuPont Nonwovens represents the world's second largest nonwovens producer.

A fully customized 3.4 metre wide automatic slitter-rewinder has been selected for the project to expand operations at its Spruance facility situated in Richmond, which manufactures its patented flashpun material Tyvek®. The installation of the Top Hardy Shaftless was scheduled for the second quarter of 2007 and the line is expected to be operational by the third quarter of 2007.

The capacity expansion at Sprunace plant, reinforces DuPont Nonwovens' commitment to continued growth and innovation through adding new technology and capacity in line to meet market segment demands.

New Generation Machinery at Kami 9

Customer: Companhia Providencia
Location: Curitiba, PR – Brasil

Companhia Providencia is the largest nonwovens producer in South America. After having been established and controlled by the Starostik family for over 40 years, the company was acquired by an investor consortium at the end of 2006.

The management team led by Herminio Freitas, CEO and Romeo Bregant, Industrial Director has decided to install its ninth PP spunbond production line called Kami 9.

The new line will target very high speed and low basis weight production. The configuration supplied by A.Celli Nonwovens will feature an Acqua winder capable of a maximum speed of 1000 m/min and the newly designed slitter-rewinder Vision targeting the maximum production speed of 2000 m/min.

The investment in the new generation machinery will give Providencia maximum slitting capability without the need to install a second slitter-rewinder. The A.Celli Nonwovens' configuration is complemented by Slittopack integrating winding, slitting, roll handling and packaging into a unique high throughput and value adding operation.

First Acqua Successfully Started Up

Customer: Fiberweb Sweden
Location: Norrköping - Sweden

Fiberweb is one the largest nonwovens producers in the world (fourth largest) with production plants in Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East.

Since the 90s A.Celli Nonwovens has been supplying Fiberweb with state-of-the art technology for many of its capital investments and has always strived to provide high levels of support.

The new master roll winder Acqua was selected for the 5.4 meter wide PP spunbond line started up in February 2007 in Norrköping Sweden. Acqua was selected for its capability to reduce scrap, increase productivity and improve winding quality, offering:

  • Maximum production speed of up to 1000 m/min
  • Drastically reduced doffing scrap (close to 0)
  • Continuous control of winding parameters (tension, nip, torque)
  • 3D interactive HMI

Slittopack: Perfect Integration

Customer: Mada Nonwovens
Location: Jubail - Saudi Arabia

Mada Nonwovens is a new venture established by the Al Rahji Investment group in Saudi Arabia. One of the company's main objectives is to become a key player in the nonwovens industry. In this respect the company decided to install a state-of-the-art Reicofil spunmelt line at its plant in Jubail.

Mada's decision to install an A.Celli Nonwovens off-line slitter-rewinder complemented by Slittopack will provide extra slitting capacity and the capability to slit on demand. Slittopack is the revolutionary system developed and patented by A.Celli integrating winding, slitting and roll packaging into a single operational concept.

The main benefits expected from this project are: reduced manpower, high throughput sorting and packaging capability removing bottlenecks and streamlining production thanks to its supervision data management.

New Products with Wingformer

Customer: Ruiguang
Location: Dalian - China

Dalian Ruiguang Nonwoven Group Co.Ltd., located in Dalian, is the largest nonwovens roll goods manufacturer in China.

In a move to further increase capacity the company decided to look to produce new premium quality products targeting the wipes market. The solution proposed was to produce multilayered hygiene wipes incorporating airlaid pulp with spunbond and carded, which represents a new to the world nonwovens technology.

Ruiguang selected the Wingformer as it is higher performing in terms of flexibility, productivity and efficiency - it offers double the capacity and 30% lower energy consumption.
